Slab Cases
A slab case is the layer that goes around a graded card once the grading company’s holder has done its job. The holder protects the card; nothing protects the holder — and a scuffed, cracked or yellowed case is the first thing anyone notices, long before they read the grade on the label.
Everything in this category is built for that problem. The Acrylic PSA Slab Case is cut to PSA’s holder specifically: 99 × 152 × 24 mm on the outside, an 83 × 136 mm cavity inside, three 8 mm layers of clear acrylic, and a magnetic closure rather than screws, so a card comes out in one movement instead of after a hunt for the right screwdriver.
Sizing is the thing worth getting right. PSA, BGS, CGC, TAG and ACE all use different holder dimensions, so a case cut for one will not seat a slab from another. The cases here are PSA-only, deliberately — a case sized to fit every grader fits none of them well.
If you would rather armour a slab you carry than display one, Slab Bumper Guards wrap the corners and edges instead. For raw, ungraded cards, the 35pt Magnetic Card Case and penny sleeves do the equivalent job.
SlabShield is run by collectors rather than a distributor, which is why the range is narrow and sized to specific holders — the story behind starting it explains the thinking.
