Acrylic PSA Slab Case

Description

An acrylic display case built around one PSA-graded slab, held shut by magnets rather than screws, for collectors who want a card on a shelf rather than in a box.

Fits PSA slabs only

This case is cut to PSA’s slab, and only PSA’s. BGS, CGC, TAG and ACE all use different case dimensions, so a slab from any of those will not seat properly in this one — that is a deliberate trade-off, because a case sized to fit everything fits nothing well.

For knocks rather than display, Slab Bumper Guards wrap the corners and edges of a PSA slab (PSA only, same as this case), and the Slab Mag is the one for raw cards.

Magnetic closure, not screws

The two halves close on magnets. That matters more than it sounds: a screw-down case means finding the tool every time you want the card out, and four screws that each need the same quarter-turn or the frame sits skewed. This one opens and shuts in one movement, so you will actually take the card out and look at it — and there is nothing to lose, strip or overtighten.

What it is for

• Display. A slab sitting loose on a shelf picks up scuffs on the case, and a scuffed case is the thing people notice before they notice the card.
• Handling. The card gets picked up by the outer case rather than the slab itself.
• Protection from the ordinary. Dust, knocks, and the sleeve of whoever reaches past it.

Graded slabs are not indestructible — the case cracks, the label scuffs, and the grade on the label is worth exactly as much as the case protecting it. This is the cheapest insurance on a card you have already paid to have graded.
